🛡️ Safety & Trust

Q: Can you provide references from other families?
A: Yes! I have excellent references from families I’ve worked with and I’m happy to share them.

Q: Are you okay with no pictures or social media posts of the kids?
A: Of course. I will never take or share photos of your children or home without your permission.

Q: Are you accepting of same sex couples?
A: Absolutely, I welcome and celebrate all families.

Q: Are you comfortable with multilingual or culturally diverse households?
A: Yes! I love learning from and supporting families of all cultures and languages.

Q. Do you have any experience with special needs kids?

A. Yes! I grew up with a sister with an intellectual and developmental disability. I am also a member and peer buddy of Best Buddies.

Q. Do I have to pay you even when my child is asleep?

A. Yes. Payment covers the full time I’m providing care, whether your child is awake or asleep.

🚗 Logistics & Availability

Q: Do you have a car?
A: Not yet, I’m learning soon! In the meantime, I can take your child out and come to you using Metro bus, Metro, Lyft, Shore Transit, or walking. Even without driving, I arrive on time, communicate clearly, and create joyful, inclusive spaces for children.

Q: Can you stay late if needed?
A: Yes, I’m happy to stay late when needed.

Q: What if I’m running late getting home?
A: No problem. just send me a message. I’ll keep your child safe and comfortable until you return.

Q: Can you walk with or take public transportation with the child if needed?
A: Yes, I’m comfortable walking or using public transit with children.

Q: Can you do outings with my children?
A: Absolutely.

🏡 Home & Housekeeping

Q: Are you okay with light housekeeping while the kids are asleep?
A: Yes, I can help with light housekeeping during downtime.

Q: Can you vacuum after playtime or meals?
A: Yes, I believe in leaving things tidy. I’ll vacuum upon request.

Q: Can we count on you to keep things tidy?Absolutely. Any messes we make will be cleaned up before you return home. If the kids are awake, I’ll tidy as we go, though it can be harder to keep the house fully clean while they’re actively playing. Once they’re asleep or settled, I make sure everything is put back in order.

Q: Do you mind if the house is messy before you babysit?
A: Not at all. I understand that life with kids is busy and messy. No judgment here.

Q: Are you comfortable with pets?
A: Yes, I’m comfortable with both dogs and cats.

🍎 Meals & Routines

Q: Can you prepare meals or snacks?
A: Yes, I’m happy to prepare meals and snacks that meet your child’s needs. 

Q: How do you handle transitions?
A: I use countdowns, reminders, and choices to make transitions smooth and empowering.

Q: How do you handle screen time?
A: I follow your family’s screen time rules and enforce them consistently.

📚 Learning & Activities

Q: Will you help with homework or reading?
A: Yes, I can help with both homework and reading. 

Q: What kinds of activities do you like to do with kids?
A: Arts, crafts, games, and any safe activities that interest your child or children.

💖 Emotional Care & Discipline

Q: How do you handle tantrums or difficult behavior?
A: I respond calmly and firmly, never out of anger. I name the behavior, offer support, and help children regulate with compassion.

Q: How do you comfort a child who is upset or scared?
A: I meet them with warmth and reassurance, whether through a hug, gentle words, or helping them talk it out when they’re ready.

Q: How do you handle sibling arguments or conflicts?
A: I listen to both sides, rephrase what they said, and guide them toward compromise.

Q: What kind of discipline do you use?
A: I use child‑centered, connection‑focused discipline that emphasizes guidance over control.

Q: What if my child has a hard time separating from me?
A: I meet them with patience and creativity. for example, making a “welcome back” card to ease the transition.

📱 Communication

Q: How will you stay in touch during the babysitting time?
A: I’ll communicate in whatever way you prefer. I only send check‑ins if you request them, so you’ll never feel bombarded.

All other DMV or Eastern Shore residents outside the listed areas must pay a travel fee. The travel fee is to cover the Uber or Lyft.

Current Availability (Eastern Shore area starting February 2nd):

  • Weekends: Available all day

  • Mondays: Available after 9:00 AM until 5:30 PM

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays: Available after 2:00 PM until midnight

  • Wednesdays: Available all day until 5:00 PM

  • Fridays: Available all day

College Break Availability (DMV area):

  • Thanksgiving Break: November 21–29

  • Winter Break: December 19–January 24

  • Spring Break: March 13–21

  • Summer Break: May 20–August 27

  • Weekends during the Spring Semester (please give me as much advance notice as possible for the weekend you need care).
